"ChatGPT Zero", "Chat GPT 0" and "ChatGPT0" are how most people search for GPTZero, the AI detector. This page is a free checker that does the same job: paste your text and it estimates how likely it is to have been written by ChatGPT or another AI model. We are not GPTZero and are not affiliated with it or with OpenAI.

Paste your text above and press Detect AI. You get an overall AI score, a verdict from 7 detectors including GPTZero, ZeroGPT and Copyleaks, and a heatmap showing which sentences read as machine-written and why.

The detector verdicts are estimates of how each tool is likely to read your text, not live results from those companies. Detectors disagree with each other often, so treat any single score as a prompt to look at the writing, never as proof.

If your own writing gets flagged, the heatmap shows the habits behind it, usually even sentence lengths, stock transitions like "moreover" and abstract wording. Vary the rhythm, add a concrete detail, and check again. On a paid plan, Humanize rewrites only the flagged sentences.

FAQ

"ChatGPT Zero" almost always means GPTZero, an AI detector that estimates whether text was written by ChatGPT. It is not a version of ChatGPT and is not made by OpenAI.

Yes. Checking text is free with no sign-up. Signed-out visitors get one detailed detector check a day, and paid plans include 300 a month.

No. GPTZero and ZeroGPT are different detectors from different companies, and they often give different scores for the same text. This checker shows both verdicts side by side.

No AI detector is accurate enough to prove who wrote something. False positives are common on plain, formal writing and on writing by non-native English speakers. Use the score to improve your draft, not to accuse anyone.

The writing analysis and your Style DNA run in your browser. For a real AI score, the text you check is sent to an AI-detection provider, and we never store it. When you rewrite on a paid plan, the draft is sent to our server, rewritten and sent back without being stored. AI features (rewriting, humanizing and Copilot) send the text to Cloudflare Workers AI, which processes it and doesn't keep it.
